Exceptional 18th century Italian silk panel - originally this would likely have been a dress silk and at some point has been converted into an alter cloth which displays beautifully as a wall hanging - it is edged and backed with 18th century hemp linen and the individual silk panels are edged with antique gold braid - all textiles are in excellent condition and the silk shows no sign of wear
